Magnitude 4.9 earthquake in Baiyu, Sichuan: Rescue forces have rushed to the affected area for verification

At 12:21 pm on April 26, a magnitude 4.9 earthquake occurred in Baiyu County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The earthquake's focal depth was 10 kilometers, with the epicenter located at 30.87 degrees north latitude and 98.95 degrees east longitude. A 3.0 magnitude aftershock occurred at 12:39 pm. The earthquake was strongly felt in Baiyu County.

Following the earthquake, the Sichuan Provincial Fire and Rescue Corps quickly dispatched an advance team from the Baiyu County Fire and Rescue Detachment to the affected area to verify the disaster situation. The Sichuan Provincial Earthquake Administration launched a level four emergency response, and the water conservancy departments of Ganzi Prefecture and Baiyu County are organizing forces to inspect water conservancy and hydropower projects and rural water supply facilities.

Currently, Baiyu County has not received any reports of casualties, and relevant disaster verification work is underway.
