The "Min'an-2025" Earthquake Emergency Comprehensive Drill was Held

On May 9, the "Min'an-2025" earthquake emergency comprehensive drill, hosted by the Fujian Provincial Earthquake Relief Command Center, was held simultaneously in Longyan, Zhangzhou, and Sanming.

This drill was the largest, most comprehensive, and most extensively coordinated earthquake emergency field drill in Fujian Province in recent years. The drill simulated a 6.3-magnitude earthquake in Xinluo District, Longyan City, with the epicenter located in Yanshi Town and a focal depth of 10 kilometers, causing severe damage to eight counties (cities, districts) across three prefecture-level cities: Longyan, Zhangzhou, and Sanming, with some infrastructure damage.

At 10:00 AM, with the command of the drill commander, the scene entered an emergency rescue state. During the drill, the Longyan, Zhangzhou, and Sanming fire rescue detachments immediately activated earthquake disaster rescue plans and quickly dispatched forces for rescue.

When the fire squad arrived at Fucai Village, Xinluo District, they found that roads, electricity, and communications had been cut off. The squad immediately used drones to scout the scene and set up an emergency satellite command network to establish information connectivity with the provincial command center.

At the scene, the earthquake caused the collapse of a building's stairs, blocking access to the second floor. While searching, forest fire fighters heard cries for help from upstairs and used upward demolition techniques to clear a rescue path. Meanwhile, the Longyan City Fire Rescue Detachment discovered two trapped people in two confined spaces and quickly implemented confined space rescue, using methods such as internal observation, layer-by-layer demolition, block protection, and stretcher transfer to rescue and safely transfer the trapped personnel.

Affected by the earthquake, a landslide occurred on the left bank of the Yongding River in Yongding District, Longyan City, blocking the river channel and forming a dammed lake. Personnel used a self-developed disposal auxiliary decision-making system to accurately determine the plane position and cross-sectional dimensions of the spillway, achieving dynamic correction. With the completion of the spillway excavation, the dammed lake water level dropped, and the peak flow rate of the breach was reduced by 61%, eliminating the danger.

After 72 hours of emergency rescue, a total of 62 trapped people were rescued, 351 injured were treated, and more than 80,000 affected people were evacuated, transferred, and resettled in Longyan, Zhangzhou, and Sanming.

This drill included 36 subjects, driving 96 training subjects at all levels, achieving five-level linkage between the province, city, county, township, and village, with nearly 7,600 people participating and over 14,000 pieces (sets) of various rescue equipment deployed.
