Fire rescue teams across the country strengthen practical drills to enhance comprehensive emergency rescue capabilities
Recently, the Gansu Provincial Flood Control and Drought Relief Command Center held a water rescue drill on the Lanzhou section of the Yellow River. The drill simulated a scenario where heavy rainfall caused the water level of the Yellow River in Lanzhou to rise, trapping some people on a river island. The Gansu Provincial Fire Rescue Corps immediately dispatched six fire rescue detachments from Lanzhou, Tianshui, Baiyin and other areas, and 190 professional water rescue personnel, carrying professional equipment such as rubber boats, inflatable boats, and water rescue robots, for on-site drills.
During the drill, participating teams conducted on-site drills in boat formation driving, lifeboat rescue, drone-assisted rescue, and urban drainage, practically testing the teams' mobilization, on-site reinforcements, hazard handling, and logistical support, to improve the comprehensive emergency rescue and disposal capabilities of the fire rescue teams.
To improve the logistical support capabilities of the fire rescue teams, the Jiangsu Provincial Fire Rescue Corps recently conducted a logistical support exercise in Suqian City under adverse conditions, mobilizing professional forces from 14 fire rescue teams across the province. Simulating adverse conditions such as water, power, gas, and food shortages, the teams relied on the supplies they carried during mobilization to ensure the food, accommodation, and medical care of frontline rescue personnel, ensuring that rescue personnel could devote themselves to fire fighting and rescue missions with better energy.
During the 72-hour exercise, the participating teams used diversified support methods to reproduce the logistical support under the actual adverse environmental conditions, testing the emergency support capabilities and long-distance delivery capabilities of the fire rescue teams' reserve materials.
