National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters Announces List of 2022 National Flood Control and Drought Relief Administrative Officials

 

According to the provisions of the "Flood Control Law of the People's Republic of China," "Regulations on Flood Prevention of the People's Republic of China," and "Regulations on Drought Relief of the People's Republic of China" regarding the implementation of the administrative chief responsibility system for flood control and drought relief work, the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters recently announced the list of 2022 national flood control and drought relief administrative officials, as well as the administrative officials responsible for flood prevention in major rivers, large and key medium-sized reservoirs, major flood detention areas, key flood-prevention cities, and coastal areas responsible for typhoon prevention.

This time, the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters announced a total of 2288 flood control and drought relief administrative officials, including 18 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government) where the main government officials served as such. In Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, the commander served as the flood control and drought relief administrative official. In addition, among the 333 prefecture-level administrative regions (prefecture-level cities, regions, autonomous prefectures, and leagues) nationwide, 227 were headed by the main administrative officials as flood control and drought relief administrative officials; all 14 divisions of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had their division commanders serve as flood control and drought relief administrative officials.

The National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters requires all levels of flood control and drought relief administrative officials to thoroughly implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on flood prevention and disaster relief work, earnestly implement the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, adhere to the principle of putting people first and life first, draw profound lessons from the "7.20" major rainstorm disaster in Zhengzhou, Henan Province last year, establish a bottom-line thinking, firmly consolidate and tighten the responsibility chain for flood control and drought relief work, be prepared for major floods, droughts, major risks, and major disasters, effectively fulfill their work responsibilities, closely monitor risks and hidden dangers such as river floods, mountain torrent geological disasters, urban waterlogging, and typhoon disasters, and with higher standards, stricter requirements, and more practical measures, make every effort to organize and carry out various flood control, drought relief, and typhoon prevention work, and effectively put the priority of ensuring the safety of the people's lives into practice.
