      At 1:45 am on January 8, a magnitude 6.9 earthquake occurred in Menyuan County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. The earthquake's focal depth was 10 kilometers. Following the M6.9 earthquake in Menyuan Hui Autonomous County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, the number of people injured in the disaster has risen to 9, all due to improper risk avoidance. As of now, 8 people have been discharged from the hospital, and 1 person remains under observation. There have been no deaths.

  According to incomplete statistics, various departments and relevant regions in Qinghai Province have dispatched more than 5,000 people and more than 1,100 vehicles to participate in post-earthquake rescue and relief efforts. As of 0:00 on January 9, a total of 168,368 people, 28,537 houses, and 1,601 livestock sheds were inspected in Hainan Prefecture; 121 urban buildings with a total area of 388,000 square meters were assessed; 179 schools, 212 medical institutions, and 35 social service institutions were inspected; and 157 mining and industrial and commercial enterprises were inspected.

  Li Jun, director of the Political Department of the Qinghai Provincial Emergency Management Bureau, introduced that the earthquake affected 5,831 people in Hainan Prefecture, with 16 households and 65 people urgently relocated and dispersed (including 12 households and 45 people in Huangcheng Township, and 4 households and 20 people in Yintiang Township); 217 houses were severely damaged, and 3,835 houses were generally damaged; 6 livestock sheds collapsed, and 145 were generally damaged; 15 kilometers of water supply and drainage pipelines were damaged, 3.96 kilometers of heating pipelines were damaged, 3.3 kilometers of provincial roads were damaged, 8 kilometers of rural roads were damaged, 3 bridges were damaged, and 17 culverts were damaged; 1 geological hazard point was affected, and the Qilian Mountain National Park management stations suffered varying degrees of damage.
