Their response to the earthquake was instantly moving.

CCTV News: The earthquake in Myanmar affected many countries. Besides Thailand and Vietnam, many areas in Yunnan, China, also felt the tremors, with Ruili City being significantly impacted. The calm and collected response of local residents in the face of the earthquake was impressive.

On March 28th, during the Myanmar earthquake, in a maternity center in Ruili, Yunnan, a nurse happened to be holding a baby. She immediately crouched down, protecting the baby in her arms. After the shaking subsided, the nurse said, "It's okay, it's okay."

Teachers Become 'Shields,' Protecting Students

At the moment of the earthquake, teachers at a middle school in Ruili reacted calmly, providing a 'safety umbrella' for their students at a critical moment.

Because the earthquake was so sudden and the shaking was intense, the teacher first directed the students to hide under their desks. After the shaking subsided, they organized the students to evacuate in an orderly manner, with the teacher being the last to leave.

Affected by the Myanmar earthquake, as of noon today, 847 households in Ruili City have suffered damage to their homes, affecting 2840 people. The local housing and construction department is accelerating the assessment and inspection of the safety of houses throughout the city, working hard to identify safety hazards and prevent secondary disasters.

Currently, Ruili City has prepared more than 1200 tents, 3330 folding beds, and relief supplies such as blankets and rice. A level four emergency response has been initiated to fully investigate injuries and property losses, strengthen risk hazard checks, and prevent secondary disasters. In addition, water, electricity, transportation, and communication in Ruili City have gradually returned to normal.
