According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, a 3.1 magnitude earthquake occurred at 3:19 PM on March 18th in Wenchuan County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The focal depth was 10 kilometers, with the epicenter located at 31.22 degrees north latitude and 103.44 degrees east longitude.

Epicenter Terrain: The average altitude within 5 kilometers of the epicenter is approximately 2292 meters.

Historical Earthquakes: According to the China Earthquake Networks Center's rapid report catalog, a total of 169 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or greater have occurred within 200 kilometers of the epicenter in the past 5 years. The largest earthquake was a 6.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province on September 5, 2022 (224 kilometers from the epicenter of this earthquake).
