A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck Wushi County, Xinjiang

According to the China Earthquake Networks Center: At 02:09 on January 23, a 7.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in Wushi County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang (41.26 degrees north latitude, 78.63 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 22 kilometers.

After the earthquake, the Aksu prefecture fire and rescue detachment quickly dispatched the earthquake rescue advance team of the Wushi County fire and rescue brigade Two vehicles and ten personnel assembled and set out to the epicenter for investigation. One light-duty team from the Aksu prefecture fire and rescue detachment, comprising 13 vehicles and 60 personnel, has arrived at the epicenter.

The Xinjiang Fire and Rescue Corps immediately activated the level one response mechanism for earthquake disasters, and in accordance with the "Xinjiang Fire and Rescue Corps Earthquake Rescue Plan", the entire region assembled Two heavy-duty teams, six light-duty teams, and eight mobile teams, totaling 182 vehicles, 800 personnel, and 32 canines, carrying 29,156 pieces (sets) of equipment, are on standby at the camp, ready to provide reinforcements at any time.
