Recently, the National Disaster Reduction Commission Office and the Ministry of Emergency Management, together with the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Meteorological Administration, and the Forestry and Grassland Administration, held a consultation meeting to discuss and analyze the national natural disaster risk situation for the month. 9 The consultation comprehensively analyzed the situation.

  会商综合分析认为，9 Heavy rainfall will continue to occur frequently nationwide this month, with the autumn rains in Western China entering their peak period. The risk of floods is relatively high in parts of Southwest, Northwest, and Northeast China; there are 2–3 typhoons that will land or significantly affect China; there is a risk of periodic drought in parts of North China, Inner Mongolia, and eastern Northwest China; the risk of geological disasters is high in some local areas of Sichuan and Yunnan; and the forest fire risk level is relatively high in parts of North China, South China, and Northwest China.  

Regarding the risk of floods. It is expected that 9 this month, rainfall will be higher than usual in most of Heilongjiang, western Sichuan, southern Qinghai, and Xinjiang. The risk of mountain floods, hailstorms, and urban waterlogging caused by heavy rainfall and severe convective weather is relatively high in these areas. The Jinsha River and its tributaries Yalong River and Minjiang River in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the Pearl River, and the Songhua River in the Songhua River basin may experience flash floods, and some rivers may exceed warning levels. In addition, 9 this month there are 2–3 typhoons that will land or significantly affect China's coastal areas.

Regarding the risk of geological disasters, the risk of geological disasters is high in some local areas of southern Sichuan and northwestern Yunnan.

Regarding the risk of high temperature and drought, it is expected that 9 this month, there is a risk of periodic drought in parts of North China, western Inner Mongolia, northern and southern East China, and eastern Northwest China. Affected by high temperatures, little rain, and human-caused fires, 9 this month, northern Beijing, northwestern Heilongjiang, central and southern Fujian, and northern Shaanxi may experience higher fire risk levels.
