Why are radar detectors widely used?
2021-08-18
People always think of radar as a military product, a high-level technology. But in fact, radar technology products have been widely used in various industries, such as intelligent parking gates and indoor anti-theft detection.
Since 1961 the year scientists proposed the concept of lidar, 40 After many years of development, technologies such as laser tracking, laser speed measurement, laser scanning imaging, and laser Doppler imaging have gradually developed, leading to the development of lidar detectors for different purposes. The lidar detector has become a multifunctional system. Currently, it is becoming increasingly mature in military applications research and its role in the industrial field is also becoming increasingly apparent.
Lidar detectors as “ the eyes of machines ” ”, are attracting much attention in the industrial field. It is a sensor capable of obtaining accurate positional information, capable of determining the position, size, and attitude of objects. Compared with other types of sensors, lidar detectors have outstanding capabilities in measurement accuracy and human body detection.
Application Areas :
1. Automotive collision detectors, used to identify the distance between vehicles traveling in front of and behind a car. When the distance to surrounding cars is less than the predetermined safety distance, the car will be emergency braked or the driver will be alerted.
2. Traffic flow monitoring and vehicle height restrictions. When no vehicle arrives, the laser range sensor measures a fixed distance ( from the laser range sensor to the ground ) . When a vehicle passes under the laser range sensor, the distance value changes. When the distance value returns to the constant again, the vehicle is considered to have passed. In this way, we can monitor the traffic flow of some road sections.
3. Intelligent detection of parking spaces. Intelligent parking lots need to monitor in real time whether each parking space has a vehicle. When a vehicle enters a parking space, the sensor sends a signal to the control room so that the administrator can grasp the parking situation in real time.
4. Automatic toll booths. The radar faces the direction of vehicles entering the toll booth. When a vehicle is detected approaching a certain distance, the camera is triggered to start recording the incoming vehicle information, and the gate opens to release it. When the radar detects that the vehicle has left, the camera is triggered to close; another radar is installed directly below the gate. When the radar detects that there are no vehicles or personnel under the gate, the gate closes.
Lidar detectors are no longer exclusive to the military field, but are gradually penetrating into the industrial field, becoming a good helper in the industrial field.
